Description

This Whipped Feta and Ricotta Cheese Dip with Hot Honey is a creamy, tangy, and slightly sweet appetizer that combines the bold flavors of feta and the smoothness of ricotta cheese, enhanced with a spicy honey drizzle and fresh herbs. Perfect for serving with warm bread, pita chips, or fresh veggies, this dip is a delightful addition to any gathering or snack time.

Ingredients

Cheeses

  • 8 oz Feta cheese
  • 12 oz Ricotta cheese (whole milk)

Flavorings and Spices

  • Zest of 1 lemon
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ¼ tsp black pepper
  • ½ tbsp garlic powder
  • 1 tbsp dehydrated onion
  • Pinch of chili flakes

Wet Ingredients

  • ¼ cup hot honey (plus extra for drizzling)
  • ¼ cup extra virgin olive oil (plus extra for drizzling)

Herbs and Garnish

  • Fresh scallions (for topping)
  • Fresh parsley (for topping)

Instructions

  1. Combine Ingredients: Place the whole milk ricotta cheese, feta cheese, hot honey, extra virgin olive oil, garlic powder, dehydrated onion, salt, pepper, lemon zest, lemon juice, and red chili flakes into a food processor, blender, or a mixing bowl if using an electric hand mixer.
  2. Blend Until Smooth: Begin mixing the ingredients together, and while blending, slowly drizzle in the olive oil. Continue blending until the mixture is smooth, creamy, and well incorporated without lumps.
  3. Serve and Garnish: Transfer the creamy dip into a serving bowl. Drizzle with additional hot honey or extra virgin olive oil to taste. Sprinkle fresh scallions, parsley, and extra chili flakes on top for garnish. Serve immediately with warm crusty bread, pita chips, or fresh vegetables for dipping.

Notes

  • Use whole milk ricotta cheese for the creamiest texture.
  • Adjust the amount of hot honey and chili flakes to control the sweetness and spiciness to your preference.
  • This dip can be made a few hours ahead and stored covered in the refrigerator; bring to room temperature before serving.
  • Serve with a variety of dippers such as warm pita, toasted baguette slices, or crunchy vegetable sticks.
