Description
These Peanut Butter Cheerio Bars are a delicious and easy no-bake treat combining crunchy Cheerios with smooth peanut butter and honey. Perfect as a quick snack or a lunchbox favorite, these bars require minimal ingredients and come together rapidly with no oven needed.
Ingredients
Ingredients
- 3 cups Cheerios
- ½ cup peanut butter
- ½ cup honey
- 1 teaspoon vanilla bean paste (optional)
Instructions
- Combine Ingredients: In a microwave-safe glass bowl, add the peanut butter, honey, and vanilla bean paste if using. Microwave for 1 minute to soften and combine the ingredients.
- Mix Together: Whisk the warmed mixture until smooth and well blended. Then add the Cheerios and gently stir to coat all the cereal evenly with the peanut butter and honey mixture.
- Press Into Pan: Line an 8×8 inch pan with parchment or wax paper. Transfer the mixture into the pan and use a spatula or clean hands to press it down firmly and evenly.
- Chill: Refrigerate the pan for 1-2 hours to let the bars set firmly. This step helps the bars hold their shape and makes them easier to cut.
- Cut and Serve: Remove the set mixture from the pan using the lining paper. Cut into 9 bars (or smaller pieces for kids or serving variety) and enjoy!
Notes
- You can substitute vanilla bean paste with vanilla extract if unavailable.
- For a nut-free version, swap peanut butter with sunflower seed butter.
- Make sure to press the mixture firmly to prevent bars from falling apart.
- Store bars in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to one week.
- These bars are great for a quick energy boost or lunchbox snack.
