Description
This refreshing Peach Lemonade combines the natural sweetness of fresh peaches with tangy lemon juice and honey, creating a perfectly balanced, homemade summer beverage that’s easy to prepare and delightful to drink.
Ingredients
Honey Simple Syrup
- 3/4 cup honey
- 1 cup water
Peach Mixture
- 3 heaping cups chopped peaches (from 4-5 medium peaches)
Lemonade
- 1 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice (from 5-6 lemons)
- 4 cups water
Garnish
- Sliced peaches and/or lemon wheels
Instructions
- Make a honey simple syrup: In a saucepan over medium-high heat, combine the honey and 1 cup of water. Stir continuously to help dissolve the honey completely, then reduce the heat to medium.
- Stew the peaches: Add the chopped peaches to the saucepan and bring the mixture to a simmer. Let the peaches cook for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally. Use the back of a wooden spoon to mash the peaches gently, releasing their juices and intensifying the flavor.
- Cool: After simmering, remove the pan from heat and allow the peach honey syrup to cool to room temperature. Once cooled, strain the mixture through a mesh strainer into a large mixing glass to separate the pulp from the syrup.
- Mix and serve: In a large pitcher, combine the cooled peach honey syrup, freshly squeezed lemon juice, and the remaining 4 cups of water. Stir gently to blend the flavors. Serve the peach lemonade over ice, garnished with sliced peaches and lemon wheels for a decorative and fresh touch.
Notes
- For sweeter lemonade, adjust the amount of honey based on taste.
- Use ripe peaches for the best natural sweetness and flavor.
- Peach lemonade can be made ahead and stored in the refrigerator for up to 2 days.
- Add sparkling water instead of still water for a fizzy version.
- For an adult twist, consider adding a splash of vodka or bourbon.
