Ingredients
For the Crema
- 1 cup cilantro leaves and stems, packed
- 2/3 cup (6 ounces) sour cream
- 1 tablespoon chopped onion
- 1-2 jalapeños (including seeds and membranes)
- 2 cloves garlic
- 1 tablespoon lime juice
- 1 teaspoon honey
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
Instructions
- Prepare ingredients: Gather all ingredients including fresh cilantro, sour cream, onion, jalapeños, garlic, lime juice, honey, and salt to ensure they are ready for blending.
- Combine in food processor: Place cilantro leaves and stems, sour cream, chopped onion, one jalapeño, garlic cloves, lime juice, honey, and salt in the food processor bowl.
- Pulse to blend: Pulse the ingredients until the mixture becomes smooth and homogenous, scraping down the sides of the bowl as needed to ensure even blending.
- Adjust seasoning: Taste the crema and add remaining jalapeño if more heat is desired. Pulse again briefly to mix.
- Serve or store: Use immediately as a sauce or dip, or store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.

- The level of heat can be adjusted by varying the amount of jalapeño used or removing the seeds for milder flavor.
