Description

This Easy Loaded Smash Burger Bowl combines crispy smashed ground beef, flavorful roasted garlic potatoes, and fresh toppings all drizzled with a tangy special sauce. Perfect for a satisfying, quick meal that delivers all the taste of a classic smash burger without the bun, served as a hearty bowl.

Ingredients

For the Burger Bowl:

  • 1 lb ground beef (80/20 for best flavor)
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • ½ tsp paprika
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp onion powder
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce

For the Roasted Garlic Potatoes:

  • 1 lb baby gold potatoes, quartered
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp paprika
  • ½ tsp salt

For the Toppings:

  • 3 cups shredded lettuce
  • ½ cup cherry tomatoes, halved
  • ½ small red onion, thinly sliced
  • ½ cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • ¼ cup dill pickles
  • 1 avocado, sliced (optional)

For the Special Sauce:

  • ½ cup mayo
  • 1 tbsp ketchup
  • 1 tbsp yellow mustard
  • 1 ½ tbsp sweet pickle juice
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp onion powder
  • ½ tsp smoked paprika

Instructions

  1. Roast the Potatoes: Preheat your oven to 425°F. In a bowl, toss the quartered baby gold potatoes with olive oil, garlic powder, smoked paprika, and salt until evenly coated. Spread them out in a single layer on a baking sheet. Roast in the oven for 20-25 minutes, flipping halfway through, until the potatoes are golden brown and crispy.
  2. Make the Special Sauce: While the potatoes roast, combine mayo, ketchup, yellow mustard, sweet pickle juice, garlic powder, onion powder, and smoked paprika in a small bowl. Whisk these ingredients together until smooth and set the sauce aside.
  3. Cook the Burger: Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Crumble the ground beef into the pan and press it down to create crispy edges, mimicking a smashed burger texture. Season the beef with salt, black pepper, paprika, garlic powder, and onion powder. Cook for 5-7 minutes, occasionally stirring and breaking up the meat further, until browned and crispy. Stir in the soy sauce and cook for an additional minute to meld flavors.
  4. Assemble the Bowls: Divide the shredded lettuce between serving bowls. Top each with the crispy smashed beef, roasted potatoes, halved cherry tomatoes, thinly sliced red onion, shredded cheddar cheese, and dill pickles.
  5. Drizzle & Enjoy! Drizzle the prepared special sauce over the bowls and add sliced avocado if desired. Serve immediately for the best flavor and texture experience.

Notes

  • You can substitute baby gold potatoes with fingerling or small Yukon gold potatoes if preferred.
  • For a spicier kick, add a pinch of cayenne pepper to the ground beef while cooking.
  • The avocado is optional but adds a creamy texture that complements the smoky and savory flavors.
  • Leftover special sauce can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.
  • This bowl is naturally gluten-free; just ensure your soy sauce is gluten-free if needed.
