Description
A refreshing and easy-to-make Brown Sugar Iced Shaken Espresso combining the rich boldness of fresh espresso with the subtle sweetness of brown sugar and a hint of cinnamon, served over milk and ice for a perfectly balanced iced coffee treat.
Ingredients
Espresso Mixture
- 1 tsp brown sugar
- 1/8 tsp ground cinnamon (optional)
- Double shot of espresso (about 2 oz)
Other Ingredients
- 1/2 cup milk (any type)
- Ice cubes (at least 6 for shaking, plus extra for glass)
Instructions
- Prepare the espresso and dissolve sugar: Add the brown sugar and optional ground cinnamon into an espresso shot glass. Brew the double shot of espresso directly over the sugar and cinnamon, then stir thoroughly to dissolve the sugar completely.
- Fill your serving glass: Fill a separate serving glass with ice cubes and pour the 1/2 cup of milk over the ice, chilling the milk.
- Shake the espresso with ice: Add at least 6 ice cubes to a cocktail shaker and pour the brown sugar dissolved espresso over the ice. Secure the lid tightly and shake vigorously until the espresso is frothy and well mixed, about 15-20 seconds.
- Combine and serve: Pour the shaken espresso mixture over the milk and ice in the serving glass. Stir gently to combine all ingredients for a smooth, delicious iced coffee.
Notes
- You can adjust the sweetness by varying the amount of brown sugar.
- Ground cinnamon is optional but adds a warm, spicy note to the drink.
- Use cold milk of any variety — dairy or plant-based — depending on your preference.
- For a stronger coffee kick, use a ristretto or a more concentrated espresso shot.
- Make sure to shake the espresso well to create a nice frothy texture for the perfect iced espresso experience.
