Description

This Texas Roadhouse Butter Chicken Skillet brings the signature rich, buttery sauce with a smoky, sweet flavor right to your kitchen. The tender, juicy chicken breasts are cooked to perfection and coated in a smooth, flavorful honey-butter sauce that’s infused with garlic and paprika. Simple yet packed with flavor, this dish is perfect for a quick weeknight dinner or a special meal any time.

Ingredients

4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts

2 tbsp olive oil

¼ cup unsalted butter

2 tsp honey

1 tsp garlic powder

1 tsp smoked paprika

½ tsp salt

½ tsp black pepper

¼ cup chicken broth

1 tbsp chopped parsley (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. In a small mixing bowl, combine the butter, honey, garlic powder, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper. Mix until smooth and set it aside.
  2. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Once the oil is hot, add the chicken breasts. Cook the chicken for 5-6 minutes per side, or until the chicken is golden brown and cooked through (internal temperature should reach 165°F). Remove the chicken from the skillet and set it aside.
  3. In the same skillet, add the chicken broth to deglaze the pan, scraping up any browned bits from the bottom. This adds flavor to the sauce.
  4. Stir in the butter, honey, and seasoning mixture you made earlier. Cook until the sauce is smooth and combined.
  5. Place the cooked chicken back into the skillet, turning it to coat in the sauce. Let it simmer for 2-3 minutes, allowing the chicken to absorb the flavors and heat through.
  6. Garnish with freshly chopped parsley and serve hot. Enjoy the juicy chicken with a side of rice, vegetables, or mashed potatoes!

Notes

  • You can add vegetables like bell peppers, onions, or zucchini to the skillet while cooking the chicken for added flavor and nutrition.
  • Add a pinch of cayenne pepper or chili flakes to the sauce for a spicy twist that complements the sweetness of the honey.
  • This recipe also works well with chicken thighs or turkey breasts if you prefer a different cut of meat.
