Description
Strawberry Sando (Japanese Fruit Sandwich) is a delightful treat that combines fluffy milk bread, sweet strawberries, and rich whipped cream. This unique dessert is refreshing and indulgent, making it perfect for snacks, brunches, or special occasions.
Ingredients
9 strawberries (more or less depending on the size of the bread)
1 cup (240ml) heavy whipping cream
2 tbsp white sugar
2 slices milk bread
Instructions
- Using a hand mixer or stand mixer, whip the heavy cream and sugar on high speed until medium peaks form, about 3-4 minutes. The cream should hold its shape but still be soft.
- Spread a generous amount of whipped cream on one slice of milk bread. Top with hulled strawberries, arranging them in a neat layer. Then, spread more whipped cream on top of the strawberries and the sides of the bread, ensuring there are no empty spots. Be generous with the cream!
- Wrap the sandwich tightly in plastic wrap and chill in the refrigerator for about 20 minutes. This helps the sandwich set and makes it easier to cut.
- Once chilled, carefully remove the sandwich from the plastic wrap. Optionally, cut off the crusts for a cleaner look. Slice the sandwich into 4 equal portions and enjoy!
Notes
- Experiment with other fruits like kiwi, mango, or blueberries for a colorful twist.
- For a sweeter flavor, add vanilla extract or a splash of honey to the whipped cream.
- For a vegan version, use non-dairy whipped cream and dairy-free bread.
