Description

This Slow Cooker Chai Tea Latte is a cozy, spiced, and creamy drink made with black tea, warming spices, milk, and vanilla. Perfect for gatherings or relaxing evenings, it’s an easy homemade version of the café favorite.

Ingredients

6 cups water

6 black tea bags

2 cinnamon sticks

1 teaspoon ground ginger

1 teaspoon ground cardamom

5 whole cloves

2 star anise (optional)

1/3 cup brown sugar (adjust to taste)

4 cups milk (whole, almond, oat, or your choice)

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. In a slow cooker, combine water, tea bags, cinnamon sticks, ginger, cardamom, cloves, and star anise. Stir gently.
  2. Set slow cooker to low and steep for 2–3 hours.
  3. Remove tea bags, stir in brown sugar until dissolved, then add milk and stir to combine.
  4. Continue cooking on low for 1–2 hours to meld flavors.
  5. Stir in vanilla extract just before serving.
  6. Ladle into mugs and serve warm. Garnish with whipped cream or a sprinkle of cinnamon if desired.

Notes

  • Adjust sweetness to your liking—start with 1/3 cup sugar and add more if desired.
  • For stronger spice, add black peppercorns or extra cinnamon.
  • Use whole spices for best flavor and strain before serving if needed.
  • Serve hot or chilled over ice for an iced chai latte.
  • Leftovers keep in the fridge for up to 3 days—reheat gently before serving.
