Description
This Mandarin Orange Salad, also known as Orange Fluff or Dreamsicle Salad, is a creamy, sweet, and fruity side dish made with Jell-O, pudding, whipped topping, and fruit. It’s a nostalgic favorite at summer parties, potlucks, and holiday gatherings.
Ingredients
- 1 (3 oz) box orange Jell-O mix
- 1 cup boiling water
- 1/2 cup cold water
- 1 (3.4 oz) box instant vanilla pudding mix
- 2 (15 oz) cans mandarin orange slices, drained
- 1 (15 oz) can crushed pineapple, drained
- 8 oz Cool Whip
- 1 cup mini marshmallows
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, pour in the orange Jell-O mix. Add 1 cup boiling water and stir until fully dissolved. Stir in 1/2 cup cold water. Refrigerate for 20 minutes to cool.
- Meanwhile, drain the mandarin oranges and crushed pineapple. Set aside.
- Once the Jell-O mixture is slightly warmer than room temperature, whisk in the vanilla pudding mix until smooth. Refrigerate for another 15–30 minutes until the mixture thickens to a pudding-like consistency.
- Fold in the Cool Whip until smooth.
- Gently mix in the drained mandarin oranges, crushed pineapple, and mini marshmallows until evenly combined.
- Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour before serving.
Notes
- Can be made up to 2 days in advance — perfect for parties and potlucks.
- Fluff salad will keep in the fridge for 3–4 days when stored in an airtight container.
- Do not overchill the Jell-O before adding pudding or it may solidify too much.
