Description

This Mandarin Orange Salad, also known as Orange Fluff or Dreamsicle Salad, is a creamy, sweet, and fruity side dish made with Jell-O, pudding, whipped topping, and fruit. It’s a nostalgic favorite at summer parties, potlucks, and holiday gatherings.


Ingredients

  • 1 (3 oz) box orange Jell-O mix
  • 1 cup boiling water
  • 1/2 cup cold water
  • 1 (3.4 oz) box instant vanilla pudding mix
  • 2 (15 oz) cans mandarin orange slices, drained
  • 1 (15 oz) can crushed pineapple, drained
  • 8 oz Cool Whip
  • 1 cup mini marshmallows


Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, pour in the orange Jell-O mix. Add 1 cup boiling water and stir until fully dissolved. Stir in 1/2 cup cold water. Refrigerate for 20 minutes to cool.
  2. Meanwhile, drain the mandarin oranges and crushed pineapple. Set aside.
  3. Once the Jell-O mixture is slightly warmer than room temperature, whisk in the vanilla pudding mix until smooth. Refrigerate for another 15–30 minutes until the mixture thickens to a pudding-like consistency.
  4. Fold in the Cool Whip until smooth.
  5. Gently mix in the drained mandarin oranges, crushed pineapple, and mini marshmallows until evenly combined.
  6. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour before serving.

Notes

  • Can be made up to 2 days in advance — perfect for parties and potlucks.
  • Fluff salad will keep in the fridge for 3–4 days when stored in an airtight container.
  • Do not overchill the Jell-O before adding pudding or it may solidify too much.
