Description
A refreshing and invigorating Lemon Ginger Shot with a kick of cayenne pepper that helps boost immunity, promote digestion, and provide an energy boost for the day ahead.
Ingredients
1–2 inches of fresh ginger root (rinse and scrub, no peeling necessary)
1 medium lemon (peeled)
1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1 cup water
Optional: 1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup (for sweetness)
Instructions
- Rinse and scrub the ginger root thoroughly (there’s no need to peel it). Chop the ginger into slices. Peel the lemon and prepare it for blending.
- Add the ginger slices, lemon, cayenne pepper, and water into a high-powered blender or food processor. Blend until smooth and well-combined.
- Strain the blended mixture through a fine mesh strainer, cheesecloth, or nut milk bag to remove any pulp or ginger fibers, ensuring a smooth shot.
- Pour the strained lemon-ginger mixture into small shot glasses or airtight containers. This makes it easy to grab one shot whenever needed.
- Store the shots in the refrigerator. Consume one shot every morning on an empty stomach or alongside breakfast for the best results.
Notes
- For an extra anti-inflammatory boost, you can add a pinch of turmeric to the mixture.
- If you prefer a sweeter shot, add honey or maple syrup to taste.
- Add fresh mint leaves or basil for a refreshing twist.
- You can double or triple the recipe to make a larger batch. Just store it in an airtight container in the fridge and consume within a few days.
