Description
A visually stunning and indulgent dessert, the Dubai Strawberry Cup layers crispy, golden shredded filo with pistachio butter, fresh strawberries, and rich chocolate—served in a jar for elegance and fun.
Ingredients
1½ cups shredded filo (Kataifi)
2 tablespoons butter
⅓ cup pistachio butter (or Biscoff spread)
1 bar dark chocolate (or preferred chocolate), melted
7 strawberries, sliced or quartered
Chopped toasted pistachios, for garnish
Instructions
- If using frozen shredded filo (Kataifi), thaw and cut into thin sections, then gently separate the strands.
- In a medium skillet over medium heat, melt the butter and stir in the shredded filo. Cook for 5–10 minutes until crispy and golden. Transfer to a bowl to cool.
- Warm the pistachio butter until pourable and mix it with the cooled crispy filo to coat evenly.
- Melt the chocolate until smooth using a microwave or double boiler.
- Assemble in jars: start with a layer of strawberries, followed by 2–3 tablespoons of coated filo, then a drizzle of chocolate. Repeat layers as needed.
- Top with remaining filo and chopped pistachios. Serve immediately.
Notes
- Thaw filo fully before using and separate strands to ensure crispness.
- Prepare all components in advance, but assemble just before serving for best texture.
- Use room-temperature strawberries to avoid seizing the chocolate.
- Add yogurt or whipped cream layers for extra richness.
