Description

Deep Fried Candy Bars are a carnival-inspired dessert featuring crispy golden batter on the outside and gooey melted chocolate on the inside. Perfect for parties, game nights, or recreating fair food at home, these indulgent treats are fun, easy to make, and irresistibly delicious.

Ingredients

2 cups all-purpose flour

1 cup corn flour

1/8 teaspoon baking soda

2 cups milk (or as needed)

1 cup vegetable oil, for frying

2 chilled full-size chocolate-covered, nougat-filled candy bars (such as Snickers®)

Instructions

  1. In a shallow bowl, mix all-purpose flour, corn flour, and baking soda.
  2. Stir in enough milk to make a thin batter that sticks to candy bars but doesn’t drip excessively.
  3. Heat oil in a deep fryer or deep skillet to 350°F (175°C).
  4. Dip each chilled candy bar in the batter, coating completely.
  5. Carefully lower into hot oil and fry for 2 to 3 minutes, until golden brown.
  6. Remove with tongs or a slotted spoon and place on paper towels to drain.
  7. Serve warm for the best gooey texture.

Notes

  • Chill or freeze candy bars before frying for best results.
  • Dust with powdered sugar or drizzle with caramel for extra sweetness.
  • Best enjoyed fresh; reheating may affect crispiness.
  • Use fun-size candy bars for bite-sized treats.
  • Experiment with different chocolate bars like Twix, Mars, or Milky Way.
