Ingredients
2 tablespoons instant coffee
1–2 tablespoons sugar (white, brown, or dark brown)
2 tablespoons hot water (not boiling)
¼ teaspoon spices (optional, for spiced version)
1 cup milk (hot or cold)
Optional for variations:
2 tablespoons lotus paste (melted)
2 tablespoons caramel sauce (melted)
1 ounce dark chocolate + 2 tablespoons heavy cream (melted together)
Instructions
- Whip instant coffee, sugar, and hot water (plus spices if using) until fluffy and light (about 2 minutes with a frother).
- Pour hot or cold milk into a glass, leaving room for topping.
- Spoon whipped coffee on top of milk.
- Add flavor enhancements:
- Classic: dust with cocoa powder or cinnamon.
- Lotus: swirl lotus paste in glass before adding milk and top with coffee and biscuit.
- Caramel: coat glass with caramel, then pour milk and top with coffee. Drizzle more caramel.
- Chocolate: dip rim in chocolate, pour remaining chocolate in glass, then add milk and coffee. Drizzle chocolate on top.
