Description

Crockpot Hot Chocolate is a rich, creamy, and decadent drink made in the slow cooker with just six ingredients. Perfect for holiday parties, cozy nights, or winter gatherings, this hot cocoa recipe serves a crowd and is easily customizable with your favorite toppings.


Ingredients

  • 4 cups heavy cream, divided
  • ⅓ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 4 cups whole milk
  • 14 ounces sweetened condensed milk
  • 12 ounces semi-sweet baking bar, finely chopped
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • Optional Toppings:
  • Candy canes
  • Marshmallows
  • Whipped cream
  • Sprinkles

Instructions

  1. Pour 2 cups of heavy cream into the slow cooker insert. Add the cocoa powder and whisk until fully combined.
  2. Add the remaining 2 cups of heavy cream, whole milk, sweetened condensed milk, chopped chocolate, and vanilla extract. Whisk until smooth and well combined.
  3. Set the slow cooker to low and cook for 3 hours, stirring every 20 minutes until the chocolate is fully melted and integrated.
  4. Once ready, set the crockpot to ‘warm’ for up to 3 hours for serving. If the mixture becomes too thick, stir in additional milk to thin it out.
  5. Serve hot chocolate in mugs and top with marshmallows, whipped cream, crushed candy canes, sprinkles, or your favorite toppings.
