Ingredients
Main Ingredients
- 1 (12 ounce) bag frozen artichoke hearts (roughly 3 cups)
- 2 tablespoons avocado oil or a neutral oil of your choice
- 1/2 teaspoon homemade seasoned salt
- 1 tablespoon fresh squeezed lemon juice (optional)
Optional Dips
- Homemade Ranch Dip
- Horseradish Sauce
Instructions
- Prepare the Artichoke Hearts: Open the bag of frozen artichoke hearts and place them in a mixing bowl. Drizzle with 2 tablespoons of avocado oil and the optional lemon juice. Shake or toss well to coat all the hearts evenly.
- Season: Sprinkle 1/2 teaspoon of homemade seasoned salt over the artichoke hearts, then toss again until evenly mixed and coated.
- Oven Cooking: Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper and place a baking rack on top. Arrange the seasoned artichoke hearts in a single layer on the baking rack. Bake in the middle of the oven for 45 minutes or until the hearts are lightly browned. Remove from the oven and allow to cool; they will crisp further while cooling. Serve on a plate with your choice of dip.
- Air Fryer Cooking: Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C). Place the seasoned artichoke hearts in the air fryer basket in a single layer. Cook for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally to ensure even crisping. Once done, remove from the air fryer and let cool slightly to allow the hearts to crisp up further. Serve with chilled dip of your choice.
Notes
- You can use any neutral oil if avocado oil is not available, such as vegetable or canola oil.
- The homemade seasoned salt adds great flavor, but you can substitute with your favorite seasoning blend if desired.
- For extra crispiness, make sure to spread the artichoke hearts out in a single layer, whether using the oven rack or air fryer basket.
- Allowing the cooked hearts to cool slightly will enhance their crisp texture.
- This recipe is versatile and can be paired with various dips; try experimenting with different flavors.
- Frozen artichoke hearts should be used directly from the freezer without thawing for best results.
