Description

Avocado lime crema is a creamy, tangy Mexican-inspired sauce made by blending ripe avocados with lime juice, sour cream, cilantro, garlic, salt, and pepper. This versatile crema is perfect for adding a fresh, zesty flavor to tacos, steaks, seafood dishes, and more, coming together in under 5 minutes with minimal effort.

Ingredients

Avocado Lime Crema Ingredients

  • 2 avocados, pits and skins removed
  • 1/2 cup sour cream or Greek yogurt
  • 1/4 cup fresh cilantro
  • 2 tbsp lime juice
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp pepper
  • 2 cloves garlic

Instructions

  1. Prepare Ingredients: Remove the pits and skins from 2 ripe avocados. Peel and lightly crush 2 cloves of garlic. Measure out 1/2 cup of sour cream or Greek yogurt, 1/4 cup of fresh cilantro, 2 tablespoons of lime juice, and seasonings of 1/2 teaspoon each of salt and pepper.
  2. Blend All Ingredients: Place all the prepared ingredients into a food processor or blender. Blend until the mixture is completely smooth and creamy, scraping down the sides as needed to ensure even blending.
  3. Adjust Consistency: If the crema is too thick for your liking, add 1-2 tablespoons of additional lime juice or water and blend again briefly until reaching the desired consistency.
  4. Serve: Transfer the avocado lime crema to a serving bowl and use immediately as a topping or dip for tacos, grilled meats, seafood, or fresh vegetables.

Notes

  • Add 1-2 tablespoons of lime juice or water if you desire a thinner consistency.
  • For a tangier flavor, use Greek yogurt instead of sour cream.
  • Use fresh lime juice for the best brightness and flavor.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator and consume within 2 days to maintain freshness.
