Description

A delightful and flavorful Cranberry Orange Butter that combines creamy grass-fed butter with tangy dried cranberries, fresh orange zest, and a touch of sweetness from honey or maple syrup. Perfect spread on toast, muffins, or as a festive appetizer addition.

Ingredients

Butter Base

  • 1 cup grass-fed butter or ghee, at room temperature

Flavorings

  • 1/3 cup finely chopped dried cranberries
  • Zest from 1 fresh orange
  • 1/4 cup raw honey or pure maple syrup
  • 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
  • Tiny pinch of sea salt

Instructions

  1. Soften the Butter: Place your softened butter or ghee in a medium mixing bowl to ensure it’s easy to blend with the other ingredients.
  2. Add Flavor Ingredients: Add the finely chopped dried cranberries, orange zest, honey or maple syrup, vanilla extract, and a tiny pinch of sea salt to the bowl with the butter.
  3. Mix Thoroughly: Use an electric mixer to blend all the ingredients until they are well combined and smooth, making sure the cranberries and zest are evenly distributed throughout the butter.
  4. Store: Transfer the cranberry orange butter into a clean jar or airtight container and refrigerate. It will keep fresh for up to 2 weeks.
  5. Serve: Spread generously over toasted Ezekiel bread or your favorite bread or muffin. For an extra touch, sprinkle with sea salt flakes for a perfect appetizer or breakfast treat. Enjoy!

Notes

  • Use grass-fed butter or ghee softened to room temperature for easier mixing.
  • Finely chop the dried cranberries to avoid large chunks and ensure even flavor distribution.
  • Orange zest provides fresh citrus notes; use a fine grater or zester to avoid bitter white pith.
  • Raw honey or pure maple syrup can be used interchangeably depending on desired sweetness and flavor.
  • Refrigerate the butter in an airtight container to maintain freshness and flavor for up to 2 weeks.
  • This butter can also be used as a sweet spread for pancakes, waffles, or baked goods.
