Description
This Cold Brew Latte recipe offers a smooth and refreshing coffee experience, perfect for hot days or anytime you want a chilled caffeine boost. Made with a homemade cold brew concentrate, it combines the richness of coarsely ground coffee steeped overnight with creamy soy milk and a touch of coffee creamer for a perfectly balanced iced latte.
Ingredients
Cold Brew Concentrate
- 1 cup coarsely ground coffee (recommended to grind beans yourself)
- 4 cups filtered water
- 1 teaspoon vanilla bean powder (optional)
Cold Brew Latte
- Ice, as needed
- ½ cup cold brew concentrate
- 1 cup organic soy milk (or favorite milk of choice)
- 2 tablespoons favorite coffee creamer (I used sweet cream)
Instructions
- Prepare Cold Brew Concentrate: In a large pitcher, combine the coarsely ground coffee with filtered water. Stir gently to ensure all grounds are saturated. Cover and refrigerate the mixture for 8 to 12 hours, preferably overnight, allowing the coffee to steep slowly and develop a smooth concentrate.
- Strain the Coffee: After steeping, use a French press plunger to plunge the coffee grounds, filtering the liquid. Then pour the coffee through a cheesecloth-lined mesh sieve placed over a 1-quart mason jar to double filter and remove any remaining fine coffee granules, resulting in a clear cold brew concentrate.
- Assemble the Cold Brew Latte: In a 16-ounce glass jar or glass, add a generous amount of ice. Pour in ½ cup of the prepared cold brew concentrate, followed by 1 cup of organic soy milk or your preferred milk. Finish by adding 2 tablespoons of your favorite coffee creamer, such as sweet cream. Stir gently, taste, and adjust sweetener or creaminess as desired before enjoying.
Notes
- You can substitute soy milk with almond, oat, or dairy milk according to preference.
- Vanilla bean powder is optional but adds a subtle, aromatic sweetness to the cold brew concentrate.
- Double straining ensures a smooth, grit-free cold brew.
- Adjust the ratio of cold brew concentrate to milk based on desired strength.
- Store any leftover concentrate in the refrigerator for up to one week.
