Description
A rich and creamy Chocolate Date Latte elevated with hints of cinnamon and vanilla. Sweetened naturally with dates, this cozy beverage is a perfect sophisticated treat to start your morning or enjoy as a comforting afternoon pick-me-up.
Ingredients
Milk Base
- 1 ½ cup non-dairy milk
Flavorings
- 2 tbsp cacao powder
- 2 dates, pitted
- ½ tsp cinnamon, or 1-2 cinnamon sticks
- 1 tsp vanilla
Instructions
- Combine Ingredients: Add the non-dairy milk, cacao powder, pitted dates, cinnamon (either ground or sticks), and vanilla to a pot.
- Simmer: Bring the mixture to a low boil over medium heat, then reduce to a simmer for 5 minutes to allow flavors to meld and the dates to soften.
- Remove Cinnamon Sticks: If you used cinnamon sticks, carefully remove them from the pot before blending.
- Blend: Transfer the hot mixture to a blender. Secure the lid tightly to prevent steam from escaping, and blend until smooth and frothy.
- Serve: Pour your chocolate date latte into a mug. Enjoy it hot on its own, over ice for a refreshing twist, or poured over coffee for a decadent caffeinated treat.
Notes
- Use soft medjool dates for easier blending and sweeter flavor.
- If you prefer, substitute regular cinnamon powder for cinnamon sticks, but remove any sticks before blending.
- Adjust sweetness by adding more or fewer dates according to taste.
- This latte can be customized with any plant-based milk such as almond, oat, or soy milk.
- To make an iced version, let the latte cool before serving over ice.
