Description

This Chocolate Chip Cookie Apple Crumble for Two is a cozy fall dessert that combines tender, spiced apples with a buttery chocolate chip cookie crumble topping. It’s perfect for sharing and bakes up beautifully in individual ramekins.

Ingredients

  • Apple Filling:
  • 1 cup apples, peeled and chopped
  • 2 teaspoons lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon granulated sugar
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons cornstarch
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • Cookie Crumble Topping:
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 tablespoons packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons oats
  • 1/4 cup semisweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease or set out two 6-ounce ramekins.
  2. In a medium bowl, mix together the apples, lemon juice, granulated sugar, cornstarch, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
  3. Divide the apple mixture evenly between the two ramekins. Bake for 10 minutes, then remove and allow to cool slightly while preparing the topping.
  4. In a separate bowl, beat together the butter, brown sugar, and vanilla until smooth and creamy.
  5. Add the flour, cinnamon, salt, and oats. Mix until just combined. Fold in the chocolate chips. The topping will be crumbly.
  6. Evenly divide and spoon the crumble topping over the baked apples. Smooth out gently.
  7. Bake for 20–25 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  8. Cool for 15 minutes before serving warm.

Notes

  • Best served warm, optionally with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.
  • You can substitute other firm apples like Honeycrisp or Granny Smith for a slightly tart flavor.
  • Make ahead tip: prepare the apple filling and topping separately, refrigerate, and assemble just before baking.
