Ingredients
1 (15.25-ounce) package devil’s food cake mix
1 1/2 cups milk
3/4 cup vegetable oil
3 large eggs
1 (3.5-ounce) package instant vanilla pudding mix
1 (8-ounce) package cream cheese
1 cup confectioners’ sugar
1/2 cup white sugar
1 (12-ounce) container frozen whipped topping, thawed
1 cup chopped pecans
4 (1.5-ounce) bars milk chocolate candy, coarsely chopped
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 325°F (165°C). Grease and flour three 8-inch pans.
- In a large bowl, combine cake mix, milk, oil, eggs, and pudding mix. Beat on low until blended, then on medium for 4 minutes. Pour into prepared pans.
- Bake 20–25 minutes, until a toothpick comes out clean. Let cool 5 minutes, then remove from pans and cool on wire racks for 30 minutes.
- For the frosting, beat cream cheese, confectioners’ sugar, and white sugar until smooth. Fold in whipped topping, pecans, and chopped chocolate.
- Assemble by spreading frosting between cake layers, then frost top and sides. Garnish with extra candy bar pieces or pecans if desired.
