Description

Chocolate Candy Bar Cake is a decadent dessert made with moist devil’s food cake layers and a creamy frosting packed with chopped candy bars and pecans. Using a boxed mix for convenience, this indulgent cake delivers bakery-quality results with minimal effort. Perfect for birthdays, potlucks, and celebrations, it’s a show-stopping treat that combines rich chocolate, crunchy nuts, and sweet candy pieces in every bite.

Ingredients

1 (15.25-ounce) package devil’s food cake mix

1 1/2 cups milk

3/4 cup vegetable oil

3 large eggs

1 (3.5-ounce) package instant vanilla pudding mix

1 (8-ounce) package cream cheese

1 cup confectioners’ sugar

1/2 cup white sugar

1 (12-ounce) container frozen whipped topping, thawed

1 cup chopped pecans

4 (1.5-ounce) bars milk chocolate candy, coarsely chopped

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 325°F (165°C). Grease and flour three 8-inch pans.
  2. In a large bowl, combine cake mix, milk, oil, eggs, and pudding mix. Beat on low until blended, then on medium for 4 minutes. Pour into prepared pans.
  3. Bake 20–25 minutes, until a toothpick comes out clean. Let cool 5 minutes, then remove from pans and cool on wire racks for 30 minutes.
  4. For the frosting, beat cream cheese, confectioners’ sugar, and white sugar until smooth. Fold in whipped topping, pecans, and chopped chocolate.
  5. Assemble by spreading frosting between cake layers, then frost top and sides. Garnish with extra candy bar pieces or pecans if desired.

Notes

  • Try different candy bars like Snickers, Butterfinger, or Kit Kat.
  • Swap pecans for walnuts, almonds, or omit for nut-free.
  • Drizzle caramel or chocolate sauce between layers for extra richness.
  • Chocolate pudding mix can be used instead of vanilla for deeper flavor.
  • Decorate with whole candy bars on top for a dramatic presentation.
