Ingredients
- 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
- ½ cup light brown sugar, packed
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 teaspoon chai spice mix
- 1 large egg
- ½ cup whole milk
- ¼ cup vegetable oil
- ¼ cup pure maple syrup
- 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
- For the icing:
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1 tablespoon milk
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease donut pans with non-stick baking spray.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, brown sugar, baking powder, and chai spice mix.
- In a separate bowl, whisk the egg, milk, vegetable oil, maple syrup, and vanilla extract until well combined.
- Add the wet mixture to the dry ingredients and whisk until just combined. Do not overmix.
- Divide the batter evenly into the prepared donut pans. Use a piping bag for easier filling, if desired.
- Bake for 15–18 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Remove donuts from pans and cool on a wire rack.
- For the glaze, whisk powdered sugar with milk until smooth. Dip the tops of cooled donuts into the icing and allow to set.
- Enjoy warm or at room temperature. Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.
