Description
Caramel Dipped Marshmallows are a festive, chewy, and colorful treat made by dipping jumbo marshmallows into melted caramel and rolling them in sprinkles. Perfect for parties, holidays, or gifts, these fun and kid-friendly sweets are easy to make and endlessly customizable for any occasion.
Ingredients
1 package purchased caramels (such as Brach’s)
Sweetened condensed milk (just enough to thin caramel slightly)
1 package jumbo marshmallows
1 package paper straws
Sprinkles (about 1/2-inch deep on a plate for dipping)
1 silpat mat or parchment paper
Double boiler
Instructions
- Unwrap the caramels and place them in a double boiler over medium heat. Stir until melted and smooth.
- Add a small splash of sweetened condensed milk to thin the caramel to dipping consistency.
- Insert a paper straw into the center of each jumbo marshmallow.
- Pour sprinkles onto a paper plate in a 1/2-inch deep layer.
- Dip marshmallows into the melted caramel, coating them about halfway.
- Immediately dip the caramel-coated marshmallows into the sprinkles while the caramel is still warm.
- Place dipped marshmallows on a silpat mat or parchment paper to cool and set.
- Once caramel has set, serve and enjoy!
Notes
- Use parchment paper between layers when storing to prevent sticking.
- Try different toppings like crushed cookies, coconut flakes, or chopped nuts.
- Make sure marshmallows are dry before dipping to help caramel stick better.
- These are best enjoyed within 1–2 days of making.
- Let kids help with the decorating, but keep them away from the hot caramel.
