Ingredients
2 garlic cloves, minced
2 Tbsp butter
½ lb ground beef
8 oz mushrooms, sliced
⅛ tsp freshly cracked black pepper
2 cups beef broth
1 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce
½ tsp Dijon mustard
8 oz wide egg noodles (uncooked)
⅓ cup sour cream
1 Tbsp chopped parsley (optional garnish)
Instructions
- In a large pot or deep skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and cook for about 1 minute until fragrant.
- Add the ground beef and sauté until fully browned and cooked through.
- Stir in the sliced mushrooms and cracked black pepper. Continue cooking until the mushrooms are tender, about 5 minutes.
- Add the uncooked egg noodles, beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, and Dijon mustard. Stir gently to combine—don’t worry if the liquid doesn’t cover the noodles completely.
- Cover the pot, bring it to a boil over medium-high heat, then stir, replace the lid, and reduce heat to low. Let it simmer for 7–10 minutes, stirring occasionally and replenishing the lid, until the noodles are tender and most of the liquid is absorbed.
- Remove from heat and stir in the sour cream until the noodles are coated in a rich, creamy sauce. Taste and adjust seasoning with additional salt or pepper if needed.
- Garnish with chopped parsley if desired, and serve hot.
