Description

These Bang Bang Chicken Sliders are a perfect combination of crispy, tender chicken topped with spicy, creamy Bang Bang sauce, all served on soft slider buns. With the added flavor of mozzarella cheese, these sliders are sure to be a hit at any gathering, from game days to family dinners. Quick, easy, and full of flavor!

Ingredients

1 1/2 pounds thin-sliced chicken breasts (for chicken)

Kosher salt (for chicken)

Fresh black pepper (for chicken)

Garlic powder (for seasoning) (for chicken)

1/2 cup all-purpose flour (for chicken)

1/4 cup cornstarch (for chicken)

1 cup buttermilk (for chicken)

1 tablespoon hot sauce (for chicken)

1 large egg (for chicken)

2 cups (or more as needed) panko breadcrumbs (for chicken)

Vegetable or canola oil (for frying chicken)

12 slices mozzarella cheese (for sliders)

12 slider rolls (for sliders)

1/2 cup mayonnaise (for Bang Bang sauce)

1/4 cup sweet chili sauce (for Bang Bang sauce)

1 tablespoon sriracha (adjust for spice level) (for Bang Bang sauce)

1 tablespoon rice vinegar (optional, for extra tang) (for Bang Bang sauce)

Instructions

  1. Season both sides of the chicken breasts with kosher salt, fresh black pepper, and garlic powder. Set aside.
  2. Prepare three bowls: In the first bowl, mix together the flour and cornstarch. In the second bowl, whisk together the buttermilk, hot sauce, and egg. In the third bowl, add the panko breadcrumbs.
  3. Dredge each chicken breast in the flour mixture first, then dip into the buttermilk mixture, and finally coat in the panko breadcrumbs. Repeat with remaining chicken breasts.
  4. Heat a thin layer of oil in a skillet over medium heat. Fry the breaded chicken cutlets for about 3-4 minutes on each side until golden brown and crispy. Place the fried chicken cutlets on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
  5. Whisk together the mayonnaise, sweet chili sauce, sriracha, and rice vinegar (if using) for the Bang Bang sauce. Adjust the sriracha for desired heat. Set aside.
  6. Cut each fried chicken cutlet into smaller pieces that will fit on the slider buns. Place the chicken pieces on the slider buns and top each with a slice of mozzarella cheese while the chicken is still warm, allowing the cheese to melt slightly.
  7. Drizzle the Bang Bang sauce generously over the chicken and top with the other half of the slider buns.
  8. Serve the sliders immediately while the chicken is hot and crispy. Perfect for parties, game days, or casual dinners!

Notes

  • If you want a more Mediterranean flavor, swap mozzarella for feta cheese for a tangy contrast.
  • Add extra sriracha or a dash of hot sauce to the Bang Bang sauce if you prefer more heat.
  • For a vegetarian option, swap the chicken for crispy fried cauliflower or a veggie burger patty.
