Description

This tangy and slightly sweet Apple Cider Vinegar Dressing is a versatile and healthy salad dressing made with simple ingredients like apple cider vinegar, olive oil, and a touch of sweetness from maple syrup or honey. Its bright flavors and creamy texture make it perfect for drizzling over salads, roasted vegetables, or grain bowls.

Ingredients

Apple Cider Vinegar Dressing

  • ¼ cup apple cider vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon maple syrup or honey
  • 1 garlic clove, grated
  • ¼ teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • ¼ teaspoon sea salt
  • Freshly ground black pepper, to taste
  • ¼ cup extra-virgin olive oil

Instructions

  1. Combine Ingredients: In a small bowl, whisk together the apple cider vinegar, maple syrup or honey, grated garlic, Dijon mustard, sea salt, and several grinds of freshly ground black pepper to blend the flavors.
  2. Emulsify Dressing: Slowly drizzle in the extra-virgin olive oil while continuously whisking. Continue whisking until the mixture is emulsified and creamy. Alternatively, you can place all ingredients into a jar with a tight-fitting lid and shake vigorously until well combined and emulsified.

Notes

  • You can adjust the sweetness by adding more or less maple syrup or honey according to your taste.
  • Use freshly grated garlic for the best flavor; alternatively, you can use garlic powder if necessary.
  • This dressing can be stored in the refrigerator for up to one week. Shake well before each use as separation may occur.
  • For a dairy-free and vegan option, use maple syrup instead of honey.
  • Try adding fresh herbs like parsley, basil, or thyme for extra flavor variations.
