Description
These quick and easy Air Fryer Apple Fritters are packed with tart apples and topped with a sweet glaze. They’re the perfect fall treat — crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and ready in just 15 minutes!
Ingredients
- 1½ cups all-purpose flour (or Cup4Cup gluten-free flour)
- ¼ cup brown sugar
- 1½ teaspoons baking powder
- ½ teaspoon kosher salt
- 1 teaspoon apple pie spice (or cinnamon)
- 2 large eggs, beaten
- ½ cup milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 cups finely chopped apple
- Glaze:
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 2–3 tablespoons milk
Instructions
- Preheat the air fryer to 390°F for 3 minutes.
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, brown sugar, baking powder, salt, and apple pie spice.
- Add the eggs, milk, and vanilla extract. Stir just until no streaks of flour or sugar remain.
- Fold in the chopped apples, ensuring they are evenly distributed throughout the batter.
- Line the air fryer basket with parchment or a silicone liner. Spoon ¼-cup portions of batter onto the liner, leaving space between each fritter.
- Air fry for 5 minutes, flip, then cook an additional 4–5 minutes until golden and cooked through.
- Transfer cooked fritters to a paper towel-lined plate. Repeat with remaining batter.
- While fritters cool, whisk together powdered sugar and 2 tablespoons of milk. Add more milk for a thinner glaze if desired.
- Drizzle glaze over fritters and serve immediately.
Notes
- Use firm, tart apples like Granny Smith for best flavor and texture.
- Don’t overcrowd the air fryer — cook in batches for even cooking.
- To make gluten-free, use Cup4Cup or your preferred 1:1 gluten-free flour blend.
- Fritters are best served warm, but can be stored in an airtight container for up to 2 days.
