Description

These quick and easy Air Fryer Apple Fritters are packed with tart apples and topped with a sweet glaze. They’re the perfect fall treat — crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and ready in just 15 minutes!

Ingredients

  • 1½ cups all-purpose flour (or Cup4Cup gluten-free flour)
  • ¼ cup brown sugar
  • 1½ teaspoons baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1 teaspoon apple pie spice (or cinnamon)
  • 2 large eggs, beaten
  • ½ cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups finely chopped apple
  • Glaze:
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 23 tablespoons milk

Instructions

  1. Preheat the air fryer to 390°F for 3 minutes.
  2. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, brown sugar, baking powder, salt, and apple pie spice.
  3. Add the eggs, milk, and vanilla extract. Stir just until no streaks of flour or sugar remain.
  4. Fold in the chopped apples, ensuring they are evenly distributed throughout the batter.
  5. Line the air fryer basket with parchment or a silicone liner. Spoon ¼-cup portions of batter onto the liner, leaving space between each fritter.
  6. Air fry for 5 minutes, flip, then cook an additional 4–5 minutes until golden and cooked through.
  7. Transfer cooked fritters to a paper towel-lined plate. Repeat with remaining batter.
  8. While fritters cool, whisk together powdered sugar and 2 tablespoons of milk. Add more milk for a thinner glaze if desired.
  9. Drizzle glaze over fritters and serve immediately.

Notes

  • Use firm, tart apples like Granny Smith for best flavor and texture.
  • Don’t overcrowd the air fryer — cook in batches for even cooking.
  • To make gluten-free, use Cup4Cup or your preferred 1:1 gluten-free flour blend.
  • Fritters are best served warm, but can be stored in an airtight container for up to 2 days.
